Knowing what to use and where is key in catfishing. The specific bait and where you are fishing it is vital. Other determing factors in your success will be the weather and at what time you are fishing. If it is hot, chances are the bite is going to be slow. The early morning and evening hours are most notably the best time to catch catfish.

The most commonly sought after catfish in the United States is the Channel Cat. They are regularly caught in most bodies of water. Rivers, lakes and ponds are literally full of them.

The most popular bait for Channels is worms, or more specifically, nightcrawlers. Channels bite better when it's cool outside, but usually can be caught at most times of the day depending on where you are fishing, and with what bait.

Other popular baits include, liver, shad, guts or sides, and prepared dough baits. The most rank of baits will usually get you results with Channel Cats. They are avid feeders on just about everything. They tend to feed more heavily during or after heavy rain. Places that have inflow after a rain are really good for catching Channels, as there are things washing in that they feed on. If you know a body of water with a river or creek running into a pond or lake, this can be an excellent place to catch them after it rains.

The Flathead catfish is another highly sought after fish. They are mainly fished because of their sheer size. Trophy Flatheads of 80 pounds or more are known to be caught. They are a little bit more of a challenge, because they are regarded as nocturnal predators. Meaning, they feed at night mostly on live bait. Perch, goldfish and shad are some of the best baits to use when going after Flatheads. Limb and trotling are the more traditional methods, but pole fishing has been making an upward climb as of late.

Every catfishermen wants one of those trophy Flatheads. Flatheads are also know to reside in hard to reach places, such as in logjams, or a body of water that isn't easily accessed. They are also very territorial, meaning they like to stay mostly in one spot, but are known to travel up to a mile at night when feeding. Your best bet at catching one of the brutes is to find a logjam or some type of obstruction, and wait until the evening and nighttime hours to go after one of these fish.

Blue Cat or aka the White Cat is the most heavily commercially fished of the catfish species in the United States. They are loved by fishermen because of their size, raw power, and active feeding habits. It is not uncommon for them to feed three or four times a day, and another two or three times a night. They prefer deep water as opposed to shallow, and running water is usually a plus. The most popular baits for Blue Cats are shad, cutbaits and perch. Notably the most preferred bait is taking a shad and cutting it into "chunks". The scent from the opened and bleeding shad attract Blue Cats quite well. They usually are caught in deep water in the daytime. At night they can be caught just about anywhere, but shallow water with cut shad, or a live bait will usually yield you results. It is not uncommon for Blue Cats to get to over eighty pounds in weight. The record set last year was over 120 pounds.

Bullheads are another type of catfish in North America. They are mainly fished because of their tasty meat. They can be caught in almost any type of farm pond. A popular bait for Bullheads are nightcrawlers. Usually when you catch one Bullhead, chances are you will catch more there. You can regularly catch them in the late afternoon hours. On an overcast day with worms, will usually get you good results, depending on whether the location you are at has Bullheads.

1. For trout fishing, the leader should not be greased. It will not sink far enough to cause any difficulty when picking the line and lure from the water, but if it is allowed to float; it will cast a shadow on the bottom of the stream which may scare the trout.

2. The trout is one of the fishes that are usually secured through the use of the dry fly. For trout, the current as well as the pools should be fished. It may sometimes be a bit difficult to keep the fly from sinking or dragging because of the various conditions of the current, but this is a matter that the angler will have to figure out for himself.

3. It is not good practice when fishing for trout to fish directly upstream so the flies, line, and leader will float directly over fish. The fisherman should make the cast from one side of the stream so the fly will only float over the fish.

4. It is important to make the first cast the best. A feeding trout will usually strike the first lure presented if it is cast so that it will float over his private domain. The angler should never fail to fish the lower end of the pool first even if the trout are rising in the middle or upper end.

5. Trout are sometimes very moody or selective and will try the patience of any angler; hence, possibly a fly with less hackle will do the trick or it may be necessary to use a spent-wing fly or a fan wing.

Indeed, catching trout fishes can be lots of fun. The anglers just have to remember these tips in order to have a happy catch.

Marketing your business on the Internet is a lot like going fishing. Just like fishing, you'll have to use a variety of ads ("bait") and some marketing skills ("fishing techniques") to make a catch.

When we went fishing, my Dad taught me that to catch different kinds of fish, you needed to use different kinds of bait. Marketing online also requires you to use a variety of "bait", depending on the kind of "fish" you want to catch.

Your ads are your bait and you will need to use different ads to attract different customers. Writing ads is a skill you will definitely want to master before you "go fishing".

Some of them the experts would love and some they would hate. But, depending on where they are placed, they all work.

When you go fishing, you also learn that you can't simply bait the hook and throw it into the water and then just sit there. My Dad taught me how to "jiggle" the bait, cast it out and reel it back in, "drag" the bottom, and numerous other techniques to get the fish to bite. In your online marketing youll also have to apply some techniques to get your customers to bite.

You cannot simply write some ads and throw them around in a few places. You'll want to try different marketing techniques including banner ads, e-zine ads, classifieds ads, traffic generators, search engine submission, pay-per-click, and even FFA posting. And don't forget, you can use free advertising to test out the new "bait" and new "fishing techniques".

Sounds like a lot of work, doesn't it? So why bother? For the same reason you keep going fishing. You know those fish are out there, and it's just a matter of time before you "hook" the BIG one!

automatically think in terms of Network Marketing. The
fact is, the same principles apply to two tier affiliate
programs.

The first rule to succeed with two tier programs or mlm
is to build wide fast.

Why?

If less than 5% of new marketers ever succeed, that

They want your talent, your network and most of all, they want
your marketing capabilities. Fraud. It's the crime of the times,
so what does that have to do with you?

The United States continues to be plagued as the investment
fraud capital of the world. Savvy network marketers and
MLM'ers continue to be caught in the under currents of the
investment fraudsters wave. Have no doubt in your mind
these people are pros. They are charming, charismatic,
intelligent and very 'likeable'.... that is until you realize what
they have done to you.

Network marketers and MLM'ers are being targeted by these
Pros in order to market and sell their financially appealing
'opportunities'. Investment opportunities in FOREX trades, High
Yield Investments, Trading Programs, Promissory Notes and
Certificates of Deposit - all "secured" and guaranteed" at no
risk to the potential investor. They seek the more liberated
audiences, the risk takers, those on the free enterprise path,
those in search of financial independence.

They want you to get out there and spread the magic. So you do.
I mean after all, they were offering huge commission checks,
and you are not adverse to some free thinking and non-regulated
investment - the commissions alone would set you and your
family up for life. This is it, this is the one... the opportunity you
have been waiting for. You knew that if you kept on working hard,
the right opportunity would come your way. And here it is,
at last...

It is because you are so good at what you do that you have been
targeted to play in their game. They need someone who can
really sell, some worker bee's to go and generate more honey
for them. Everything looks in order, they have the flashy car, the
money and a $5,000 suit to match. They also say they have the
contacts in the financial world that everyone wants to know.

There are a multitude of ways they will drag you in, all
involve substantial financial reward for you... don't be tempted.
Check them out, see who they are, at the very least run a
background check on them... do they come from where they say
they come from? Follow up on those stories they told you, and
put together the inconguencies for yourself. Keep an open mind.

And most of all be prepared for their answers. They have
answers, for everything. They'll tell you that you are too
suspicious, 'do you know how lucky you are to be a part of this?
It's only open to a select few'. If you start to bang the drum too loudly, they'll kick you out of their set-up...You're too much
trouble.

Being alert and listening to your instincts, those nagging doubts,
can save you immeasurable heartache down the road.
The reality is that these people will create a whirlwind, gather
the money and disappear. They leave you to face the FBI,
the civil suits, the angry investors who have lost their entire
savings. You even got your parents to invest their 401k, and
they lost it all... and you, well not only do you suffer the financial
devastation of being looped by the con, your reputation is mud
and the network you have cultivated over many years no longer
trusts you. You end up in the marketers graveyard.

Be alert, check them out and follow up... then confront them with
your findings. Most of all, listen and really "hear" the answer.
You are investing in yourself, and your future...
don't see what you want to see - see it as it is.

Night Fishing Preparation, The Key To Success

Preparation is the Key To Successful Night Fishing, You Better Have These...

Night fishing requires quite a bit more preparation than daytime fishing does. Even if you "think" you know the waters pretty well, you need to take extra precautions when fishing at night.

If you are night fishing from a boat, you have even more to think about. Make sure you have enough flotation devices onboard and that they are easily accessible. If someone falls overboard, it is much more difficult to see them at night, so you need to be able to throw a flotation device out to them quickly.

Proper lighting on your boat is also essential. Enough flashlights and batteries should be an obvious commodity, but you would be surprised how many times those batteries that you "thought" were new, die off within minutes of the trip.

You should have a GPS monitor at all times (good compasses are better than nothing if you can't afford a GPS). However, don't go out and buy a GPS right before your first night-fishing voyage. Buy one in advance and learn how to use it first! Trust me, it is no fun trying to read the manual when it's pitch dark and you're lost.

Not only are the tree stumps harder to see at night, so are the shallow waters. It definitely pays to learn the waters well before heading out at night.

Before you venture out into the darkness, make sure you let someone know (back onshore) where you are going or are planning to go. If you aren't back home at a specific time you suggest, at least others will know where to start looking for you.

It's also a good idea to pack your insect repellant. Night fishing not only brings out the best fish, but also the meanest bugs. It's prime feeding time for many insects, and to them, you look pretty tasty on that open water.

Prepare your rods, reels and lures BEFORE you hit the water. There is nothing worse than getting out in the water and realizing you forgot to bring your favorite lure.

A little nap during the afternoon before you head out is also a good idea. Of course, if you are catching a lot, I doubt you will be tempted to doze off.

And remember, safety always comes first. I am yet to see a fish worth getting seriously injured or killed over.

The point to that story is that the one he had to buy so that he could fish, wasn't nearly as good a rod as the original. His biggest complaint the entire trip was that the replacement was too "whippy". He couldn't set the hook. If you've never had the pleasure, this fact is true. If your rod has the stiffness of a whip, you can't set the hook to save your life. Bites are difficult to feel as well if you rod is whip like. In order to set the hook properly your rod must have some backbone (stiffness) to it. Does this mean that you have to find the one perfect fishing rod on this planet and then pay hundreds of dollars for it? No not at all. A very serviceable fishing rod can normally be found for $50 or less. I personally love the Quantum X-tra lite rod series for ultralight fishing. And these rods are extremely affordable. Normally they are less that $50 and quality and durable. I've had the three that I have for over five years with no problems. Actually the car door got a hold of one of them a couple of years ago and I had to get a new one. Slamming the car door on my fishing rod is obviously my fault and says nothing about the quality of the rod. The bottom line is that an anglers fishing rods are often overlooked as secondary to the fish catching process and they shouldn't be. Spend a little time finding the types of fishing rods that feel right and perform well for you. This will pay dividends in the future. And remember, you should be able to find nice fishing rods that can be used for most freshwater fishing situations for $50 or less each. In my experience it isn't at all necessary to break the bank buying your next fishing rod. Just wiping the outside of the reel like this removes any dirt of sand that might have gotten on your rod while fishing. Over time, this can build up and cause problems. Change Your Line - this tip is especially true with monofilament line, which is what I use. Some people will go for an entire fishing season without changing their fishing line. This amazes me. As an example, I change my line once a month or so during fishing season. The "fresher" your fishing line is the less resistance it provides for the fishing reel. Not only this, but the older the line, the more it will coil, and the less strong it will be. Setting The Drag - You want your drag set tight enough for a hook set, but loose enough to come off of the fishing reel easily. Just pull the line off of the reel with your hand before throwing your first cast. If it pulls off fairly easily with a decent amount of resistance, it should be fine. After the hook set, adjust the drag accordingly. The drag on your fishing reel isn't like that chicken cooker. You don't just "set it and forget it". The drag on your reel should be adjusted as you feel the size of the fish. A Spring Cleaning - At least once a year your fishing reel should be taken apart and cleaned and greased. This simple step, which takes about an hour of your time, will add years to the life of your fishing reel. Do a search for "fishing reel maintenance" to get instructions if needed, but the bottom line is that your fishing reel should be cleaned and greased at least once a year. These assumptions have been cycled for so long they have just been accepted as fact. The Trout have been considered 'Unpredictable' because their behaviour or actions didn't always fit what we would have expected when fly fishing. No-one, it seems, had ever thought about the possibility of their actions not matching our expectations because our beliefs could be flawed. I started evaluating alternative possibilities. Gradually I put the puzzle together. Eventually, those long standing questions had answers. The trout behaviour then became extremely predictable. I started taking advantage of these findings. Having realized I didn't need to imitate anything to induce takes, I was able to construct flies which could do specific jobs for me rather than imitating anything. With each of the situations I encountered on the water mastered, the results just automatically followed. I had seemingly mastered the sport of fly fishing. Of course I had a hard time from not laughing out loud, but went on to offer him one of my other rigs already in the boat. Once we hit the area I intended to troll he went on to politely say he wanted to use his own rod but asked what one of his lures he should use for northern pike. He had one large red and white spoon and I told him to use that and made sure he let out enough line for what we were doing. I believe I was praying for him to get the first strike and sure enough he did after about 15 minutes or so and the fun began. Now this pike he had on was I guessed about 15 pounds, not that big but the struggle with that little, short toy he had was hilarious to watch. I did not believe he would get the fish to the boat but he did although to fast, I had the net and told him to slow down, he did not hear me as I leaned over to net the fish he had it reeled up to about 2 feet from the tip of that little rod, all that pike did was lean on the line and he was gone. I must add here that he also had no leader on that rig. After that he was so excited and of course wanted to keep fishing, but asked if he could use one of my other rods which was fine because I wanted to see him really hook and land a nice fish. To shorten this story he did land 2 more northerns and a small walleye. Oh yes I did catch a fish, one walleye and one pike, but we had a new fishing addict here. The next day he went into town to the Canadian Tire store and got properly equipped. I imagine that young man from southern Ontario had some great tall tales to tell when he got home. I wonder how big that one that got away is Now! A light action graphite spinning rod and reel will handle most fish you will want to catch, plus it is light enough for the beginner to feel even the light hit of those walleye. So just get out there relax, take your time. Bring some coffee or lunch or even better catch your lunch and cook on one of the many small islands all over these northern lakes. Mostly just enjoy it all the fresh air, wildlife and scenery. Enjoy it all while your watching that loon, deer or even a moose feeding, a big walleye might just swim up and inhale your bait sending that twitch up your line through your rod to your fingers. Set the hook and there's lunch! Well that's enough from me time for supper and a 5 minute stroll down to the river and make a few casts and see what happens.
